Flowers of the Forest

Faither o' us a', biding Aboon!
Thy name be holie!
Lat thy reign begin!
Lat thy wull be dune,
on the Yirth as in Heeven!
Gie us ilka day oor needfu' fendin.
And forgie us a' oor ill deeds,
as we e'er forgae thae wha did us ill:
And lat us no be siftit;
but save us frae the Ill-Ane!
For the croon is thine ain, and the micht
and the glorie, for evir and evir,
Amen!

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen.

Sadly we must say Good-Bye

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye....

Harold J. (Hal) Hunter

July 8, 1948 to March 9, 2006

Hal has gone to the great beyond at the age of 57, after a long and tiring battle with Alzheimer's. He was a resident of Royal Oak , Michigan and passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2006 in Livonia , Michigan .

Hal served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was an engineer at Mascotech for 17 years. He played in the Birmingham Pipes and Drums band, was a member of the St. Andrews Society, the Commonwealth Club, and Clan Hunter Association, USA . He was also a life member of Acorn Post 1669 VFW in Royal Oak .

Hal was a gentle and loving husband, father and grandfather, who had a great love for his Scottish Heritage, Clan Hunter and playing the pipes. Although he had played many different instruments over the years, learning the bagpipes at 45 was his greatest accomplishment.

Hal’s family gave him a great sense of pride, both his immediate family and the Clan Hunter family. He held many positions within Clan Hunter and was a cherished member.

He is survived by his dear wife Marty, our current Membership Director, whom he married February 5, 1972 , in Round Lake , Ill.

He is also survived by sons, James H. Hunter of Waterford and John P. Hunter of Warren and daughter-in-law, Shauna Hunter; his parents, James and Luella Hunter of McHenry , Ill. ; and 4 grandchildren.

Memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
